Rotary evaporator selection becomes easier when vacuum is considered alongside the rest of the vapor path. A pump that looks strong on paper can still be a poor fit if it is chemically incompatible, difficult to control, or mismatched to the condenser.
Start with the operating window
Write down the pressure and temperature range you expect to use, then note how stable that range needs to be. Routine evaporation often benefits more from predictable control than from a single aggressive endpoint.
