Cooling decisions are often distributed across several pieces of equipment. The bath supplies energy, the flask transfers it to the sample, and the condenser needs enough capacity to recover vapor under the selected conditions.
Map the path before comparing equipment
Start by writing the path in plain language. That simple map reveals where a temperature limit, flow restriction, or control mismatch might appear.
- Heat enters through the bath and flask.
- Vapor travels through the duct and reaches the condenser.
- Cooling removes latent heat and returns condensate to the receiver.
Questions worth asking
Look for the temperature stability you need, the cooling medium available in the lab, and how the system behaves when the load changes. These details are usually more useful than a generic “high performance” label.
